The group started in October 2006 as the Sea Scout section of the New Forest North District Explorer Scouts. We are affiliated to the 4th (Eling) NFN Sea Scouts which are based in Totton, Near Southampton. This is where we meet on Tuesday nights, However due to the nature of our group we are often out and about doing various activities such as sailing and hiking etc.

The section started with only 4 explorers (3 girls and 1 boy) and has now expanded to 15 with an even mix of boys and girls aged 14 to 18. Members will develop social and leadership skills as well as nautical skills. Many of the explorers also help out with other groups as young leaders.
